07-03-11 2011 FIRECRACKER DUATHLON TESTIMONIALS:

"Very fun event. Had the feel of a small, friendly, intimate event, but was still professionally managed. Hope to see it return next year."- DesertSpin via Active.com, 5 out of 5 Stars!

SMMiller via Active.com, 5 out of 5 Stars!

"Loved it - atmosphere, athletes, exciting course, a bit off-beat, and the support was strong. A to Reno Cycling for free tune-ups and wall to wall sponsorship. Setting a 5k PR on steep singletrack didn't hurt, either!" -
nerdreno via Active.com, 5 out of 5 Stars!

"Excellent event! RENO 5000 and Reno Cycling and Fitness really made this a winner!" -
MichaelConners via Active.com, 5 out of 5 stars!

01-08-11 Event Testimonials: Cross Country 8K @ ArrowCreek

"This was yet another amazing event put on by Reno 5000. From the pre-race packet pick-up to the awards ceremony, everyone involved is very professional, helpful and upbeat. The course was challenging and right on the mark in terms of distance - very well planned. And, given the adverse icy conditions - Reno 5000 marked those areas very well so that you wouldn't be surprised and lose your step. The many raffle items make it fun for almost everyone to walk away with something. Finally, the food was great. Most importantly to me - Reno 5000 has provided these events that are not only very challenging for adults, but also for kids. To recognize that age group with the podium and prizes and awards have done wonders for my son's confidence. My son and I, as well as the rest of our family, will be running in your events in the future." - NV Lynchs, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"What a great race! Very well planned, great information-the emails were very helpful. The volunteers and expo staff were wonderful, as was the food and beverages. And having awards for such a small amount of runners was a nice touch. Loved the raffle too. As usual, the Reno 5000 organizers are amazing and word will spread that these are the events to run in!"- Josteeler, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"A well-organized and run event - great job, Reno 5000! The course was really challenging, especially the first 2 miles going uphill. The snow wasn't too deep, which made it fairly easy to run on. The vendor expo was small and intimate, and everyone was of good cheer. Another wonderful and 5-star job to everyone involved, and thanks especially to all the volunteers and helpers who were out on the course! I really appreciated the folks at the end of the course who cheered us on to a frosty finish!" - MBooher, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Great Location, Great Route. The weather was perfect. Hills and snow made it challenging and very enjoyable. Thank you, I will be back for this one.... with my team next year. Fantastic job Reno 5000" - Fitness Designed, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 4/5 STARS!

"Another well organized well managed race with the usual Reno 5000 flair! It's great to see such a challenging unique race in Reno. Looking forward to the rest of the 2011 races!" - Dave Zaski, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"This event was so much fun! Whether you are a very advanced or recreational cross country runner, we had a blast! As soon as we broke over the crest into the clearing, it was ultimate freedom through the snow. The descent into the country club was kind of bittersweet; I wasn't ready for it to be over. Great planning Reno5000...we are gonna plan on it again!"- GoDalt, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

I think the run was fun. It was what it said it was going to be in the details to the race. Running in snow. I feel it was challenging also. I liked running out in the open when on the golf course. That last uphill climb killed me. Had a blast. Will do it again next year, depending on how much snow fall we have. lol.."- Rob Mateo, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 4/5 STARS!

"It was fun and definitely challenging. As the oldest runner, I decided to sacrifice safety for speed so I was alone for most of the run and had a couple places where I went off course and had to find my way back. I thought the markers were too far apart. But all in all it was a great experience.."Carson City Evelyn, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 4/5 STARS!

11-20-10 Event Testimonials: "TURKEY TROT" 5K

"I have run many 5K races and am AMAZED at the organization of this race especially since it's a new race! What I think is unique about Reno5000 races is the amount of recognition that individual runners receive. The podium idea really rocks and really gives us all something to strive for. I am also AMAZED at the raffle and expo. Very nice! Great job! Can't wait for the races next year!" - Corrine Casanova, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Amazing event! Very well organized, my first Reno 5000 race, definitely not my last. My 7 year old had a blast in the Jr. One Mile I loved the course beautiful scenery, the snow, love the fact that the streets were closed and there was plenty of room for everyone. RC Willey was great while the ice had us on a delay we had a nice warm place to wait and not out in the cold. Great Job!  Thank you and Happy Holiday's..." - Morgan Brantner, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"We loved it! It was our first time but we enjoyed the scene, people and thanks to the event organizer. We will definitely do this again in the future! Great job!" - SusansOlson, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"For my 1st 5K it was great. There were a lot of people that came even despite the wind and snow. It was a nice course and RC Willey was a nice host. I am a little sad that I wasn't listed in the overall results but I know my time was around 36min and I'll look forward to improving that on the next race that Reno 5000 offers.  Thanks." -  Keetbb, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Nice flat run, with closed off streets there was plenty of room for everyone. Well organized."
- Wenkerbean from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 4/5 STARS!

A message from the RENO 5000 Race Directors:

First of all, thank you all for participating and making the event wonderful.  Also, to the great sponsors who support these events, we want to thank you too.

In response to Keetbb:  First of all, thank you for choosing the RENO 5000 as your first event!  We feel horrible that your name was not listed in the Overall Results at the event.  If you still don't see your name (
check here) in the Overall Results, please contact us HERE and we will be sure to resolve it promptly!  Thank you again and hope to see you back for your 2nd 5K!

Another Note:  No Excuses!  We apologize for the handful of folks that didn't get recognized in the Overall Results or called up for their Age-Group award due to timing errors.  We did make sure that each of you were awarded properly.  Unfortunately, the timing was out of our control.  We will always strive to improve on previous events.  That in mind, for those that were not 100% satisfied, we hope you enjoyed the high-quality shirts and awards and, to see all of you back at our next event!

10-30-10 Event Testimonials: "TRICK-OR-TREAT" 5K

"Another fantastic race put on by the Reno 5000 crew! It's great to have an event in Reno where people can come out and see the elite runners in the area. Nice job with the changes and additions, looking forward to future races."Dave Zaski, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Great event. Looking forward to the Turkey Trot. The distance markers were great to have. The route was great since it was closed and we didn't have to dodge traffic." - Daysers, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Once again a great race. The Reno 5000 series is fun for the whole family. Lots of good raffle prizes and super costumes. The 5K (3.1 mile ) is an excellent distance for first time and short distance runners and the 1 mile was good for the little ones. The staff are all so helpful and pleasant. Looking forward to the Turkey Trot Run on 20th of Nov. Thanks for putting this event in Reno." - Robert L. from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Great race! Closed course, great staff, mile markers, wine tasting, medals and so many raffles! Only thing I would ask is to try and move along faster with the awards and raffles... was waaaaaaay too long for runners who just wanted to get their medal and get out of there... Will be back for Turkey Trot!" - John Whitehill, from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Great day! I appreciated having distances marked along the race route. It was nice not having to guess. Everyone was friendly and encouraging. I'll be back for the Turkey Trot." - Evelyn, Carson City from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"A great race for the whole family! My son and I participated and it was the most fun we've had for a race! Easily earned 5 stars!... "The course was totally traffic-free which I really appreciated. Special thanks to all the awesome volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and to the Reno 5000 crew who worked so hard to put on the event. See you at the Turkey Trot!"

(I must respectfully disagree with Roxanne - please do NOT give "participation medals" to every child who participates. To me, this totally sends the wrong message! As I look around me, I see so many little ones and young people today who have become so greedy and self-centered, even crying because they think the "deserve" something just because they participated. The "it's all about me" attitude is just plain wrong! Instead, parents and those around should use this as a teachable moment.)"- MBooher from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"What a wonderful race. Loved all the kids and the costumes. I have just a small recommendation and that would be to give all children participation metals. As I was leaving, I saw a young boy trying so hard not to cry, his mom was saying that sometimes that's just how it is... So many prizes were given out but he didn't get one. So I gave him a little pumpkin that I had taken from a box under the awards table and that truly made his day (mine too). He was all smiles and thanked me repeatedly! Definitely a five star experience! Thanks Will and everyone else! See you at the Turkey Trot!" - Roxanne B. from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

A message from the RENO 5000 Race Directors:

First of all, thank you all for participating and making the event wonderful.  Also, to the great sponsors who support these events, we want to thank you too.

In response to Roxanne B.:  We do give finisher's awards to every Junior runner.  If the little boy you saw crying didn't get one, I hope he contacts us, and we will mail him one right away.  For our 9-4-10 event, we also gave finishers awards to all Juniors, but for the 10-30-10 event we added a "TOP 5" medal to each the boys and girls.  Those medals we misplaced in all the raffle prizes and are in the mail already!  There should be some very surprised Juniors this week when they get the mail!

9-4-10 Event Testimonials: "RUN FROM THE RECESSION" 5K

"Awesome Race!  I just wanted to say how much fun I had at the race today.  I just started running in June and this was my second race ever.  It was so well organized and well-thought out.  We had a great time and the prizes were awesome!  I won a small prize but it was still fun to see others win.  I will be signing up for the next race.  I have already e-mailed my running friends and told them to sign up also.  Thanks again for a great race."  - Janice F.

"Very well organized and having a raffle made it worth hanging out as the day got hotter. The shirt was definitely high quality as well. This was my first 5k;I am a sprinter at heart, and I just had a baby so this was a big event for me to say the least. I'm super excited and training for the next one!" -
Courtney S.-G. gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"This event was awesome. This is my first race and I had lots of fun. I look forward to the next one and my kids decided they wanted to run too. Making it a family event." - Angelica R., gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Great event with great raffles and prizes at the end. The running shirt was well worth the entry fee! I think having elite races was actually a neat idea because now I want to become an elite runner. Looking forward to the next race!" - RunnerX32 from Active.com gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Very nice course, easily the best prizes of any race in the area. Even the shirt was high quality. The only change I'd like to see is having the elite runners go at the same time as everyone else since there's really no need for a separate race. The elite runners should just be at the front of the starting line. Props to the organizers for putting together a series, looking forward to the other races." - Dave Z. gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"Flat and fast. This will be a professional Reno race series. Well organized, good prizes, strong elite competition." - August B. gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!

"I'm in agreement. The event was great. I'll be back for the Oct event." - Unknown, from Active.com Review gave the RENO 5000 5/5 STARS!
