June 30, 2012 Packet Pickup
- 12-3pm Mandatory Packet Pick-up & LAST DAY OF REGISTRATION: Located at Reno Cycling & Fitness (5260 Longley Lane, Reno, NV. 89511). Must Show ID & USAT Membership at Packet Pickup. You can purchase an event-day USAT Membership: Adult $10. Youth (17U) $5. Annual $39.

July 1, 2012 Race Day
- 5:00 am Transition Opens
- 6:00 am Athlete Body Marking & Expo Opens

Northern Nevada's only Duathlon event! Close to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The RENO 5000 Firecracker Duathlon is a challenging course. Participants start off with a 5K (3.1 miles) Run/Walk. The run will be on paved roads and off-road, technical, single-track trails. There will be an aid station located at the halfway point. The 30K (18.6 miles)Bike will be 3 laps of a 6 mile out-and-back route, with aid stations every 3 miles. The bike course is on-road and hilly. After the bike portion, proceed back to the transition area, where spectators will be cheering you on, for your final 5K Run, which is the exact same course as the first 5K.
The RENO 5000 Firecracker Duathlon is a unique challenge that anyone 12 and older can accomplish! There is a relay division, so if you are a pure cyclist, get a friend to do the run portions. These teams are 2-person relay teams made of one runner and one cyclist. It's a great way to race with a friend or loved one, or train for an upcoming triathlon like Donner Lake or Pyramid Lake!
